Tudor Roof Tiles are proud to introduce our new range of handmade roof tiles.
Made in England using traditional techniques and Etruria Marl clay, this collection was specifically developed to meet the aesthetic and regulatory demands of conservation areas, heritage properties, and architecturally sensitive projects.
Each tile is individually hand-pressed kiln-fired using time-honoured methods that ensure subtle variation, rich texture, and the natural patina sought after in period architecture, and provide a carefully curated palette of historically accurate tones, including:
• English Oak – a brown tonal option perfect for seamless repairs or extensions, ideal for Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian homes
• English Dark Oak – reminiscent of 18th-century peg tiles seen across the South East
But thats not all..... The English Oak Blend is a carefully crafted mix of warm, earthy tones inspired by the natural weathering of aged oak timbers and traditional clay roofs across the English countryside.
Each tile is handmade, just like historic roof tiles made over a century ago, using traditional pressing techniques, ensuring slight natural variations in texture and tone.
This handmade irregularity gives roofs a soft, organic appearance that 'machine-made tiles' or 'crafted tiles' cannot replicate.
When installed, the English Oak Blend delivers:
• A subtle, time-worn aesthetic that instantly complements historic and rural architecture.
• A finish that matures gracefully, developing a rich patina over time.
• Seamless integration with surrounding landscape and traditional materials like local British brick, stone, or timber.
• Enhanced curb appeal for new builds in conservation areas or refurbishments of period homes.
• Not only visually compatible with listed buildings and traditional properties, but also accepted by planning authorities for use in protected and conservation zones.
Whether you're restoring a historic cottage or building a new home in a character-sensitive area, our new handmade tiles offer the perfect balance of tradition, quality, and compliance.
